When deciding to purchase a home, a great deal of thought should be given to a variety of factors - WHERE DO YOU WISH TO LIVE? This seems like a relatively easy question, but many factors can come into play here. Do you wish to walk to work, or are you willing to drive? How long a drive is tolerable? Are you concerned about the reputation of the school? Will you be close enough to family? or will you be too close? What other amenities do you want or need - recreational areas? Good library? Convenient shopping? WHAT IS YOUR BUDGET? Before spending time looking at homes, you should speak with a mortgage professional who can assess how much money you can borrow, and therefore how much home you can afford. WHAT TYPE OF HOME IS BEST FOR YOU? Single family homes are generally more expensive than condos of the same size, but you are responsible for all the upkeep.
